The one-time estate land, Kistápé lies east of the center of Bikács in the county of Tolna. Bikács-Kistápé, the small village of 500 residents in Tolna county, was once the home of Count László Győri. Today, descendants of cottars once cultivating the Zichy family estate live at the place, where Zichy Park Hotel****, with its 47 rooms, is located on the approximately 15 acre land as part of the Dél-Mezőföld natural reserve, as an “island of peacefulness”.
After the Turkish occupation, in the Kistápé territory cottars lived and cultivated land of the lord. At the time of the emancipation of serfs, in 1852, according to the first Land Register data, owner of the farm was Count László Győri. After the emancipation of serfs, in the middle 19th century they became agricultural workers, however, they continued not to own land. Owner of the farm remained a single landholder.
Later the farm became the property of the Zichy family by succession and remained in the ownership of this patrician family until 1937. In 1930 Kistápé merged with Bikács. After World War II the farm was nationalized and it was only after the change in the political system, that the territory became again a private property.
At present, the person who possesses utilization rights of the farm is the planner and builder of Zichy Park Hotel.
